Hooray, Hooray.....a Sunny Day

It was a beautiful day today and the kids just loved being outside. I bought matching swings for all three. It was a "Mommy Moment" for sure! ;) It was Daniel's first push in the swing. He loved it. He just giggled and giggled. Sophia kept yelling "I'm so happy" and Emmie taught Sophia to yell out "Pump It".....imagine that! lol

It's off to Marriott's Maui Ocean Club for The Tribe...... Well....we leave tomorrow for Maui! It is our yearly family trip we take at spring break! ;) Two weeks of tropical breezes, delicious sea food, yummy smoothies, walks along the beach, playing in the pool and taking the kids for walks in their stroller's. However, because we love our bloggers friends so much......Emmie and I decided we couldn't live without blogging for two weeks, so we are bringing one of our lap tops with us! Hopefully we will be able to post and insert pictures like ususal. If not.......we'll have to catch up on all of you when we return! Just imagine will you, the amount of "stuff" we have to bring along....... 5 people, 4 suitcases, 3 carry ons, 2 car seats, 2 diaper bags, 2 strollers, 1 bag of toys, 1 stressed Mother and a partridge in a pear tree! ......that sight alone will be worth taking some pictures of! We've got it all planned out who does what and who is watching who! Let's see how well it works! lol See you soon my family and friends! We'll miss you...... Aloha........

Ha, Ha.....you can't see me....... This past Wednesday it was a full blown party in the crib at nap time. I finally had to go in to Sophia's room about 30 minutes later and remind her that it was indeed nap time and she needed to sleep before sissy's volleyball game. I also asked her "What does Momma say about your clothes?" To which she replied "leave on." I then asked her "What does Momma say about your books?" To which she replied "No, no ripping pages." I then asked her about Baby Tad and she replied "No, no open back." (she will take the battery pack out) Now mind you.....when I ask her these things she is always laughing at me when she gives her answers. So I am always peeking back in her room once I know she is sleeping to see if she listened. Well today she decided to do something a little different and this is what I found. She had nicely put some of her blankets over the railing of the bed so I couldn't see her. What a stinker! Oh, and just so you know, having a wild nap time party can make for a really, really bad hair day!

Moon Girl ~ Part Two As many of you already know, Sophia is just taken with the moon. Since my last post about it, her new favorite book is "Papa, Please get the Moon for Me". We can't read any other book before nap time or bed time at this point. She is also in love with the video. She will watch it 6-7 times in a row before she has enough. I had been thinking about trying to find a moon to hang in her bed room. Well, I found one. A big yellow moon with glitter going around the edges. Her eyes got as big as saucers when I showed it to her. We decided to make it a big ordeal when hanging it in her room. Daddy had to get out his "very long ladder" and put it up against Sophia's "very high wall" and "up and up and up Daddy climbed". Finally when Daddy was at the top of his ladder he put "Sophia's Moon" up on the wall for her. She watched and listened to every detail.....those little brown eyes just beaming. Now Sophia has her own moon! ;) Sophia will say "Papa, peez get moon me"

Introducing the whole Beckering Tribe.........
What many of you probably don't know is that, not only are we a Multi-Cultural Family, but we are a Blended, Multi Cultural Family. There are six children of all various ages and yet we still want more! lol This picture was taken last summer on Father's Day.
Left to right: DJ is 26 and works with his Father in the family construction business, then there is Sophia who you all know very well, ditto with Emmie, my husband David, little Daniel at 2 months old, Susan is 24 and currently living in Australia getting her Master's Degree in Business, and James is 21 and a senior at Michigan State University. He will also be joining his Father in the business. So when we say "Never Too Many", we really mean it! ;) At this point it is very hard to get many pictures of the older/adult children, but I thought I'd share this one.

Plumping........... So.......I am out doing errands and due to the school having water problems, Emmie comes with me. I try and tell her that we are sticking to the tasks at hand, but some how, some way, the girl gets me to the mall. Oh yes.....she tells me she'll have lunch at Olga's if we go. So, I cave in and say ok. I'll get right to the point of this post......we are getting ready to leave and she whips out her gloss and her mirror. I'm already harassing her because she can't put it on w/o a mirror. Mind you my gloss is out of my purse, put on and put away before she even starts her process of the whole ordeal. She informs me that when one puts on "plumping" gloss that you have to watch what your doing so your whole face doesn't plump. "Yeah right"....I'm just laughing! She's says, "do you want to try some, I swear it works".......I ask her if I need to wipe off my gloss and she says "yes", because it works much better on "un-glossed" lips. SO ....I take my napkin, wipe off my freshly applied gloss and proceed to apply the "Plumping" gloss. She tells me that in a few minutes my lips should start to tingle. Tingle???? ( like I really want my lips to tingle). So I hand the gloss back to her and immediately ask her "if my lips look bigger", "are they plumping," I feel so "plumped", and tell her what a special day this is. We can "plump" together! Mind you I am laughing so hard, tears are in my eyes. And I just go on and on about the plumping thing until the waitress brings our check. We leave the restaurant and I am not kidding you....my lips are tingling and even feel slightly numb. I was quite surprised by it. Actually I was just praying I wasn't having some kind of allergic reaction to it! lol So of course we go into Bath & Body (to buy more plumping gloss) and I immediately find a mirror and yell out....."Oh my word....my lips are plumping"......"they are HUGE", "I look like Angelina Jolie"........Emmie is just dying of embarassment and I am just cracking up beyond words! I mean, I can barely speak because I think the whole thing is so darn hilarious! It also came to me that if I have some plumper on, kiss my hubby , that his lips might start to tingle too. Can you imagine if he asks me about it, I can say it's because I'm so plumping hot! lololo So, not only do I have a 2 year old telling me to "chill out", I have a teenager to plump with! If anyone needs any tips on lip plumping, please stop by Emmie's blog. I'm sure she can fill you in on all your lip plumping questions! So never fear my friends, if you weren't blessed with huge lips, you too can have them, with a little applied "plumper."

As special thank you to my dear friend Becky, who put this picture together of our girls, to my dear friend Verna, who thought of sending us these adorable t-shirts and to my dear friend Nikki, whose kind words always uplift me.

Favorite Photo Friday

Ok.......so I have learned from Becky that one must post a favorite photo on Friday's. Well, since I am new at this, I am having a hard time choosing just one picture. I guess I'll just have to post two for this first go around! ;) The picture of Emmie and Sophia was taken this past Thanksgiving. Of course Sophia is sporting her "serious look" once again. It is so hard to get that little spice girl to smile for the camera. Mind you.....she smiles all day long! And it's no surprise that Emmie looks darling like always. On the other hand.....Daniel is a little ham. Take a look at that big cheeser and those two toofers! Now that is a terrific smile!
