{ Honored }

Fia Girven (1 of 1)
I am so completely honored to have been asked to be Sophia Jane Girven's Godmother. My relationship with Kimberley and her family has grown to be a very important part of my life and to my family as well. My eyes fill with tears as I recall how I met Kimberley and the support we gave each other during our very long wait to bring our children home. I believe we will be life long friends....brought together by the seed planted in our hearts to bring home a few of the orphaned children of our world. Mid April-May 2007 019
I remember my first dinner out with Kimberley in May, 2007. Emmie was so worried that I was going to meet someone that I only knew through my blog.
What if she was a serial killer after all????? But I was confident by our emails
that she was just as nutty and crazy as I was and that we would get along just fine! ;)
Sure enough, that was the case and a wonderful friendship began. P3216105
As the years passed by while we waited for our children, our friendship grew deeper and my respect and admiration for Kimberley grew as well. Her passion for the orphans of our world and her sincere joy as she watched each and everyone of our blogger friends bring home their children was nothing short of amazing. From her cyber showers, to Saturday morning chats to her advocating for the Starfish Foster Home and asking people to commit to supporting a child from there truly shows her character. Her heart is genuine and I am so very thankful that the Lord brought her into my life. Our mutual friend Kelly, threw Kimberley a shower once she got her referral. Watching Kimberley tear up over every gift was just another reminder to me what a true "diamond" she really is. Another bond for us is that our children came from the same orphanage. And although I did travel before her, I was able to help calm some of her fears by coming home and telling her what the "scheduled" journey would be. Girven (4 of 1)
When you see Kimberley and Sophia together, all I can say is that Kimberley just glows.
The love she has for "Phia" radiates from her beautiful face and smile.
It brings me so much joy to see that in her.
And Sophia beams as she looks into her Mother's eyes. It is a deep, deep love. Girven (Fia) (9 of 1)
And so my sweet little Goddaughter, may you be richly blessed and enjoy your wonderful life with your family and friends. I promise to always be there for you and your family. We will share a love that goes beyond blood, a love that was there for you before you were even here.....for this part of our journey together has only just begun.

Tim and I are honored to have you and David as Sophia's Godparents. I don't think that I could have made it through the wait without your friendship and encouragement. When it came time to think of who we would like to play this role in Sophia's life, it just had to be you. You have been there all along. You understand her story and you know her journey. That's all I can say. It is you. Thank you for saying yes. Thank you for being my 'core' friend. :)
