This was our last day in Beijing. The place where our son was born, the place where he has been for the last 3 1/2 years. The place where his people are, his culture is and where his life could have been. This is a very emotional day for me as I felt the same when we left Hunan with Sophia. As I was walking the streets one last time....the tears came.....for this is my baby boy's journey. I felt frantic to take it all in so I can remember it all for him. To share his story with him one day in a way that he can be proud of. David, Emmie and I still can't believe that we are here once again, bringing home another one of God's precious children. My dream is complete....my last child from "China" is coming home. And I pray that as we embrace this new journey all together that Andrew's little heart heals and he feels all of our love for him. Tomorrow morning we leave Beijing, and head for Guangzhou. The last leg of this journey and soon we will be home.......
"Home is where your story begins".

I so remember those bittersweet emotions of leaving Anna's birthplace. Very emotional......very humbling, leaving me with an ache in my heart for her birthparents and a gratefulness for the gift of life that I know you understand. Our prayers remain with you all and for safe travel.
Safe journeys to Guangzhou...and happy shopping there : ) I remember crying as the plane took off from Wuhan and Annslee was watching out the window.
Couldn't help but notice China was in quotation marks...hmmmm..so last child from there...plans for somewhere else ??
Andrew will never forget as long as China remains so close to your heart.
This photo of Andrew saying goodbye to his birthplace and hello to the wonderful new world he is about to enter is simply breathtaking.
Thinking of all of you.
Enjoy every minute and take it all in.
Prayers for the rest of your journey... both in China and at home.

Safe travels my friend, you are in my prayers. I also cried when our plane took off from both of my children's birthplaces.
And Guangzhou means you are getting closer to home and family!
XO,
Gail
He is just so darn handsome!
Oh how sweet! We have that little hat...it still fits! I remember feeling as you do when we were in our son's province. I also looked into the face of every woman we came into contact with looking to see if she might be THE ONE...the birth mother. I so desperately wanted to thank her and let her know that we would love and care for her son...that he would have a good life...that nobody would make fun of him here...that he would see as many doctors as it takes...that we will not forget the country that he was born into...and when we left...there was no more searching for HER...and I was sad.
May the Lord have His hand upon you the rest of your trip.
Blessings,
Holly
Enjoy your time in Guangzhou. Did you know there is a Starbucks just a block from the White Swan? there is a Thai restaurant down the road that run straight down in front of the hotel also. It is before the bridge to the main land part. It was pretty good. Greg and I ate there quite a bit when we got Ethan.
OH, Steffie I have enjoyed your first half of your journey & WOW he is just precious!!! COngrats!!! I look so forward to reading each day & to see his little face start having a special glow of love is so amazing.
Please get some rest (if possible) so you can do all that shopping in Guangzhou.
