Sophia was so excited for her first day of Preschool. I have her enrolled in the afternoon class which meets from 12:30 until 3:00pm, M-W-F. She could hardly wait! She proudly chose her "first day of school" dress, bow and shoes.....and her new princess necklace! ;)

She found her seat with her name card and then got up and walked over to where she knew her favorite blocks were. She came back and started to build her tower. As you can see by the lower left picture that she takes her tower building seriously. She always checks to make sure the blocks are centered and balanced. I love the far right picture as you can see the concentration in her eyes.

Now this picture just cracked me up. I heard her say to the little boy beside her, "I have to tell you sompin" (something) and she then proceeds to put her hands up to whisper whatever it was that she felt she had to say. All I know is when she was done, both of them were laughing. As I looked around the classroom at the other children, something told me that Miss Fia will be running the show. I was also THRILLED to see other children with different ethnic backgrounds in her class. That brought my heart so much joy.

Just me and my little girl.....this is my good bye hug and kiss. No tears, no anxiety.....just a very happy 4 year old girl enjoying life and her friends.
Mommy has to let this one spread her wings too! ~sigh~

Aw Steffie, she is just too sweet, it looks like she was having so much fun with the blocks and her new friends - I love the way the little blond boy is looking at her when she's about to tell him something. OH how I miss this age!!
I a so glad to hear that she was so happy about her first day! You captured some great photos of her in all of her happiness!
I know just what you mean about her class having a good mix of children from different ethnic backgrounds...it also brought joy to my heart when I noticed the same thing about Ella's pre-school!
4 is one of my very favorite ages, Sophia is so adorable and what a sweetheart! Love the pic with you and your little girl.:)

I feel like a complete idiot....I sent you that email last night and didn't see all of your updates on Emmie....I guess I found the first negative about my new sidebar feature...I thought it would save me time....it doesn't tell me when one of the blogs has been updated, just a new post!
I am so sorry that Emmie is feeling so bad....we will continue to pray for her and hope that this new treatment works!
Hang in there!
Lisa
I just love it when Mia says she has to tell me sompin'. Sophia's eyes tell a story in themselves as she is leaning over to tell a secret to her new friend. That picture is so funny!! And I love the mother/daughter photo on the bottom. So sweet.
So glad she is happy to be going to school.I can promise you I was not looking that happy on my first day.
Give her a few days and she will be teaching the class.LOLOLOL
Will be fun hearing stories of her in school, and what the teacher says she said.
Beware family secrets no more.
Awww....I love the picture of her wanting to tell her new friend a secret. I LOVE how little girls are so outgoing and little boys seem a little timid around them! Just precious!
I love that "whispering" picture! Too cute!
She's growing up!!!!
and fly she will .. you have loved her, given her safety, given her a way to express herself ... She is an extension of you yet her own ... Love you Sophia !!!!
miss ya Steffie ... and always praying for my girl Emmie ...
Oh what a great time I am sure Sophia had on her first day!!! (I so love the photo of her whispering to her classmate). I am sure she is just going to love it!!!!
So glad Sophie had a great first day. Anna is enjoying preschool too. These girls are all such characters! Love her expressions.
Oh congrats on Sophie's first day of school!!! How proud you both look. I wish my little Addison didn't cry every time I left her at preschool. We will get there.
It's too soon.
Glad she is adjusting well and loving school.
She looks very happy...as do you!
I'm so glad it went so well! Love the picture of her and the little boy, she is too funny! Great picture of mommy and Sophia!!

Oh and as for the little one whispering to the boy.....
She is just telling him to stick by her and all will be fine.
Or she is asking him for a date.LOLOL
What a cutie pie she is! It is so nice when they adjust so easily.

Just wondering how Emmie has been... Been thinking of you all..
Hugs..
Hope you have a Great Weekend..
Does she get her building skills from her Daddy. She is beautiful.
Sophia is such a cutie pie. Glad she's enjoying her preschool.
So, I'm glancing at your comments and notice one from Emmie -- posted while she was in class? What's up with that? It was a sweet note, however, and the "ily" at the end was lovely.
Still, I'm glad she's well enough to be back in school...
Sophia looks cute as can be here! I think four is going to be her year :)! NOw to read about your Emmie update...
Found your blog while blog hopping and wanted to say that I LOVE your pictures! Precious!
What a big girl she is and so happy too!!
Love the pic of the two of you!
Steffie, first how is Emmie? I am so sorry I have not been around alot lately to keep up on things, we are at the lake alot in the summer and now life is back to normal. I pray that she is feeling better. And for that little 4 year old beauty, I have probably said it before...I could just eat her up!! Those cheeks are just too precious.
If you have time I posted some big news the other day and I wanted to share it with you.
Have a blessed Sunday.
Love and blessings, Kristy
These pictures are just adorable! She looks sooo happy! I love the dress she picked out to wear too!
Seeing Sophia today reminded me of my little girl when she first attended preschool. Just like Sophia, she had a great time oblivious to other kids crying.
Love her innocence and cute smile :D
Now that last picture is just PRECIOUS!!!! Mommy and her girl!!! Love it!!!
What a sweet post! You are such an inspirational Mommy! You are always right there involved in the important moments of your kids lives and you make them shine....because they are a reflection of your love.
I will be praying for Emmie. I have been thinking of you all just haven't had a chance to visit much. Hope you are having a lovely fall.
