{ Amazing Heart }

Hope (2 of 1)
Last Friday evening was my husbands company Christmas party. Being that David is the owner/president, he always gives a speech at the beginning....recapping the year, praising/teasing his employee's and then usually talking about some of our children's accomplishments as well. I always give him a pep talk about keeping it clean....blah, blah, blah. {most wives do this, right? ;)} As he "moved down the line of children" when he got to Andrew, he said how thankful we were for his successful open heart surgery. Then David spoke of us waiting to bring home our 7 year old daughter Olivia from China.....and then this is where the surprise and his amazing heart shined. He told the room full of people that there are 147 million orphans in the world, how changing the lives of just one is a heart changing experience. How it changed our lives and moved us to bring home 3. That these children deserve a home and a family and he said......if you are a employee of Beckering Advisor, you will be given the following support from our company if you choose to adopt a child. You will have have Steffie's and my support. We will be there to talk to you, help with paperwork, pray with you and be of moral support during this process. You will be given $7500 towards your adoption costs and also a paid leave of absence while you bring your child home. He reminded them that there is a 10,000 tax credit which he believed many people did not know. And he ended his speech by saying that he hoped and prayed that he would get a phone call from someone saying that they were very interested and felt led to go on this journey. Sure enough, the next day while he and Emmie were out shopping, he got that call and he called me with so much excitement in his voice. I was beyond proud! For David and I, it's all about following your heart and doing something for the 147 million orphans of our world. His heart and generosity never ceases to amaze me. ;) Mufasa is an amazing man that only very few get to see....and thankfully my family and I are a few of them! ;)

Oh I am so proud to see David take such an incredible lead in helping others. That is going to be such a blessing in helping people take the plunge. Even if you didn't provide the funds - just having your support will be incredible. You both are amazing & so willing. God be praised!!!!

So thankful that Emmie is alright.
Blessings,

that is so wonderful! my husband and i are currently in the beginning stage of international adoption. we have done alot of research but still have many unanswered questions as we don't know anyone personally who has adopted internationally. i suppose we'll learn as we go. :)

too bad my husband's company doesn't offer adoption assistance. glad that your husband is providing assistance to his employees!!

What a blessing for so many this Christmas and New Years season! I love that my husband's company is so generous with adopting families, but they are a large global company, so it's almost a given. To hear of a smaller, family owned business offering up such support... it warms my heart. I cannot tell you how much. Happy New Year - what a wonderful year y'all had in 2010, and I just know that 2011 will be even better!

Just catching up on blogs and would like to say that your husbands heart to take the personal to business in such a gracious way is a fine example of the measure of a man.

& now I'd like a job;0)
