Happy {6th} Birthday, Sophia

Today Sophia, Emmie and I had a girl day to celebrate Sophia's 6th birthday. Her morning started off with opening presents before Daddy left for work. Fia was kind enough to let her brothers help her open gifts. After breakfast, we set out to have our girl day and do something that Sophia has been saying she wanted to do for her birthday. Our first stop was the mall. Sophia was sure she wanted to get her ears pierced. She watched Emmie go first and I could tell at the end of it that she wasn't quite sure. However, she did climb up in the chair, picked her earrings and closed her eyes for the first ear. No sooner then the "pop" of the ear gun and she was sobbing......and I mean SOBBING!!! I felt horrible but did my best to encourage her to go on. She was covering the other ear saying she didn't want to do that one. Luckily the smoothie shop was right across the way and Emmie ran to get her one. She took a few sips, held the cup and sissy's hand while Momma rubbed her legs and pop.....the second ear was done. She then gained her composure and picked up earrings for later and a butterfly holder to display the new earrings. She then happily played in the kids court for a few minutes and then we went to have her nails done. She chose pink and she also had two flowers painted on each hand on her ring finger. Her choice for lunch was Yen Chings, which was then followed by a trip to Target to pick out her backpack for school and for dessert we had a quick stop at Cold Stone. When we got home, Emmie took her for a jet ski ride and then she had her rose covered cupcake. (yes, before dinner) She has had a wonderful day and is looking forward to this weekend when we have a small family get together to celebrate her special day again. ~~~~~
