This is just "it" for me. This is my very favorite kind of shot to take of my children. Just a portrait shot, not much else in the background and to try and capture a great smile and gleam in their eyes. Andrew usually loves for me to take his picture, and the more I can make him laugh or be surprised about something, the more natural look he gives me. And "this" picture just "did it" for me. He is doing so well. He has been speaking all English for months now and has no problem expressing his wants and needs. I can understand him 90% of the time and he is such a sweet natured boy. He loves preschool and is so excited when we go places and he see's new things. I still have several moments as I watch him play that I wonder if he misses China, his foster parents or if he really remembers friends in the orphanage. For the most part, he seems very happy and content. I just know that there is so much in that little soul of his that I don't know and I wonder if he will be able to tell me about it someday. For now, I haven't asked him any questions relating to this topic. I feel he is too young and I don't want to confuse him. Perhaps there will be a day. Until then, I just pray that he loves us as much as we love him.
