Miss Fia has had such thin hair. We grew her bangs out last year hoping it would give it a little more fullness. I always keep the scissors up high in my kitchen and in the playroom. And at this point things like markers, crayons, glue, stickers....anything that is crafty is not allowed in the bedrooms either. So imagine my horror when my sister Ingrid came into the house and asked me if I had tried to give Sophia bangs again.

Oh yes.....while Daddy was in the shower, Fia got into his side cabinet drawer in the bathroom and decided to cut her own bangs. I was horrified......only because it has been so hard to get her hair to grow and look nice. It took me at least 5 minutes for her to confess where she put the hair. She hid it under her bed. Yep....there is all was. I couldn't believe it.

But sissy always comes to the rescue for her......always! ;)
So.....now Miss Fia is sporting the side swipe bang look.
I have to say it could have been so much worse.
She really didn't too bad of a hack job.
My sister just trimmed them up at bit and Fia just pushes them over to the side.
Sigh......so the growing process has begun once again.....

I panicked when I saw the pile of hair in the top photo. It really could be worse. Just think, she's getting a jump start on a new spring hairdo!!
PS. Looking forward to seeing you Saturday.
awww...it is sweet she has her sister!! Her hair doesn't look bad at all. You are lucky! We have had it MUCH worse here!! lol
She'll always be beautiful!!
Aawwwww.... she did a pretty good job though. A couple of months ago, our next-door neighbor Posies gave herself a mullet. Truly - a mullet. The Tongginator has yet to cut her own hair - I'm thinking it's truly a matter of time. And big sister? Is awesome.
OH my gosh Steffie, I forgot that kids do this! Although I chuckled, I understand how frustrating this must be. LOL!
Poor mommy!

When I saw that pile of hair I knew what had happened. That is one thing that makes this mommy shiver! At least it was salvagable. She looks adorable in bangs!
Oh Steffie...she looks so sweet with her new haircut....I know exactly how you feel. Miss Grace at age 4 decided to cut her hair 2 days before a scheduled professional photo appointment. This momma was NOT happy. And I thought I was the only one that kept every scissor, marker and crayon up high! Her bangs look very cute.
I would have to admit.. .Miss Fia did a wonderful job....Ok.. Big sissy to the rescue..I have a feeling that is how it will be in our house once Miss Izzy is home..
I would have to say that I don't remember the kids ever doing this.. but thanks for the reminder..
HUGS..
Love ya girly..
Just think you are going to be in paradise in a few days..
ENJOY..
Oh goodness, I'm glad it still looks darling!
LOVE the picture of Emmie with Sophia. It just speaks of the love they have for one another. So good to have a big sissy when mommy is mad!
I must say that is the best haircut I have ever seen a pre-schooler give themselves! I have a feeling she and Emmie will be close their whole lives. That picture is priceless. I know you hate to be growing the bangs out again, but so glad she didn't cut her hair to the scalp as I have seen with little ones before. She is just so precious with her little sad picture.

Oh my! I'm so terrified that my daughter will do this one day. I too hide all scissors! Well at least your girl didn't decide to start chopping the back of her hair! She's cute regardless!
Oh gosh I remember when Astrud cut her hair, it ws all the way down the the scalp right in the FRONT!!!!
Love, Kristy
Oh yes. WE have had this situation. Poor baby! I don't think she'll do that again!
ahhh. been there...Caitlyn is the only one here that has a fascination with trimming hair. I try desprately to keep them away from her after 3 self done trims. The thing is she is quite like Ms Fia in the sneaky climb and find dept too...All 3 x they had been put up when she gave herself the trim.
I think this is every moms worst nightmare! I know it is bound to happen in our household and when it does, I can tell you I would be just as upset. She did a good job though and thankfully they're not too short...that side swipe look is awfully cute too! :)
Oh I feel your pain!!! My Emma did this right before Christmas. I was so bummed and then after a couple days and getting over the Christmas pics that would be altered I got a little perspective in life. It's hair ... it will grow back and yes it could have been so much worse. We are still in the growing process ... good things for bows to distract :)!!! Oh what a wonderful big sister! Happy growing!
Ugh! Well at least it was easily fixed.
Scary, I'm sure!! It really looks like it turned out ok though. What a sweet big sister she has!
Janet
Actually I was thinking the same thing, she really didn't do a bad job and it could have been much worse. Libi scalped her bangs 3 weeks before her fourth birthday. :-)
Awe she looks so caught...This is my worst nightmare to think that Emma may do this..so far so good. I bet Sophia won't do it ever again though and your right, it could have been so much worse.
Oh, Steffie. Thank goodness you didn't see that pile of hair first!! Miss Fia still looks adorable. I just love that Emmie is sportin a solidarity headband to support her lil' sis. How sweet is that?!?
Awww, Steffie!!! I feel your pain, as Paige did that when she was 3 and she scalped herself almost bald. She sported a hat for an entire year...we laugh now, it was horrible then. My heart melted when I saw the pic of Emmie and Sofia...I know that love all too well! Precious daughters you have!
I am always afraid that my two rascals will find the scissors and "do" each other's hair!
Sophia looks darling (and aren't you the mean Mommy for taking her picture when she knew she was in trouble!). And I just love Emmie's sweet smile in the last picture.
See you Saturday!
Everytime Anna uses sissors for cutting her paper, I shiver for the same reason! I never take my eyes off of her during craft time!:)
Poor sweet girl looks so sad, Momma! They never want to disapoint us, but can do a great job of it sometimes. Really, it could have been so much worse and Sophia did a pretty good job.
She actually did a pretty good job! Ellie did this too except she had a mullet for about 4 months, uhg! I love the photo's of the sisters hugging, so sweet!
Okay...do you remember my post almost a year ago...MY Sophie did the same exact thing? Ugh! And she too has the finest and most slow growing hair I have ever seen. The bangs were finally grown in and even with the rest of her hair and then...SNIP! Everyone kept telling me what a good job she did, but that SO did not help me feel better. lol!
Oh boy.....my girls both have cut their own hair and each others...Livi still has some strands that are so short she looks like a punk rocker LOL
Those older siblings always come through in bad times. Tyler told Addison she looked beautiful when she cut her hair a few months back LOL
She still looks beautiful. side swipe bangs are in. Where in the world is that TA! you must be at your wits end.
