Life of a Mother

Today was not going to be a peaceful one....at least not the beginning. I went in to get Daniel this morning knowing that his little eye would probably have the crusty's on it so I brought a warm cloth along with his milk. I had already suspected that he had an allergic reaction to the eye drops he was given the day before. He just did not react like Sophia did with them. When I saw him..... not only did he have the crusty's, but his eye was nearly swollen shut, red and his face was swollen and red as well. I knew it was an 8:00AM call to the doctor. I left my message and they said she would call back within the hour. My return call stated to take him to ER. Nanny #2 promptly arrived at 8:45 and I packed my bag thinking it could be a long day. I headed out with Daniel and turned around not far from my house because I thought I'd better get the stroller to keep him in lock down. So back home we went, I packed it up in the Mama Machine and we took off once again. I was happy to see an empty waiting room upon our arrival. We got right in....blah, blah, blah and basically they sent us out with a different eye drop. The Omnicef that he is on for the double ear infection he has as well, I am to continue with. I find it unreal that with this sickness that we have all had, that both of my younger children have had an allergic reaction to one of the given meds in a months time. Sophia had a reaction to the Omnicef and Daniel to a pretty standard Eye Drop. As I am heading home I get a text from Emmie to come and get her. I am at a half way point to go either direction and I decide to get The Boy home to the compound and then I will deal with Emmie. When I get home I find a beautiful princess.....happy and sweet. Our Nanny however was on the floor in pain....she tells me she has had this pain for two days. I ask her if she can wait for me to get Emmie and she says yes. So.....I fly out the door again. I am hauling down the back roads in the Mama Machine......and then I see it.......I close my eyes and hear the Ba-Bump.....look in my rear view mirror and yep...sure enough...Mr. Squirrel was history. ~sigh~ :(
I get Emmie, talk with her, we check out and head back home. Nanny goes home, I tell her to keep me posted......we love her..... give the kids lunch...Daniel hardly eats a thing....has the mother load of all mother loads in his pants.....due to the meds I'm sure....I have administered one drop in his eye......I'm not seeing much improvement and I am just praying......PRAYING that I WILL see some improvement in the next 24/48 hours, or I am to bring him back in.....and we know what that means.....major tests, blood drawn and things I don't even want to think about. Now.....all Things are currently in their beds and I just know that some where in the world it is Happy Hour.....anyone care to join me????? However truth be known....I'm just thankful that all my chicklets are at home in the nest with me.

Oh Steffie...what a day! Praying the eyedrops work this time. Praying for Nanny and always at the top of my list is your precious little Emmie! I hurt for her so much as I have said we have been through this in our household. I pray God's protection over her and that she is able to wear God's armour to school every day and fight off Satan's demons.

I am praying they all get better soon. Here's to hearing laughter in the house and not sick Things.

I'll have a Mojito with you.

Oh no Steffie so sorry to read that Daniel is now sick. Oh and that Omnicef eats up the kids stomachs bad. Morgan was on that stuff a couple of times for her ear infections. The Asodophilus powder helps get the good bacteria back in their system. You just put it in there juice and stir it up. It's tasteless. Praying that you all start feeling better soon.

I love your ending. I jujst know it is Happy Hour somewhere. When our kids were little, my sister and I would call eachother in the afternoon and say, "Don't you think it is 5:00 somewhere?" So, yes I would join ya anytime.

Oh dear! You ARE having your fair share of fun, aren't you, you poor girl! I don't have any alcohol in the house, but I'll eat some chocolate for you! And I'll pray. It's much more effective than chocolate anyway.....

OH my! I have got to get caught up on your little "Things"....Poor little Daniel! Bless his heart! I am so so sorry!
Honestly I believe I'd ask the Pediatrician for an RX for Augmentin (If they aren't allergic to penicillin)... to take to Maui....just in case this happens over there.....Augmentin will get most anything! That is what they/we have ALWAYS given Chelsi for her ear infections....and it ALWAYS worked! As for the eye drops...she has had "Gentamycin" in the past and it is less prone to cause a reaction...usually the reactions occur to the "sporins"...i.e. neosporin or polysporin.

Oh bless your sweet Mommy heart!
Love and hugs coming your way!!!!!
