What I haven't told you

So what I haven't told you lately is that we have been at the Pediatricians twice in 5 days. You may remember my brief post about Daniel up in the middle of the night with a high fever. Ear infection. Got the antibiotic for that and 2 days later.....I am suspecting Roseola. He has all the symptoms. ~Sigh~ Not much you can do but get through it. This past Monday it was like I was living with a new version of "Simba Unleashed" or something. He was just NOT himself in any shape, way or form. ~Sigh~ Sophia is now telling me her ears hurt too. However, with her, I am suspecting something else. We'll see if my Mother Intuition is right. So....I call the office and here we go again. I pull the Mama Machine in on Tuesday morning.......a nice rainy, yucky morning. I hate rain. Especially when lugging two children out in it! Daniel gets checked first. The infected ear is looking better and the other ear is still clear. However, his throat is a little red and besides all four molars that he has been cutting, the top two in front of those are now making an appearance as well. Poor baby. New prescription.~ Sigh~ Sophia's turn.......Mommy's right....her ears aren't hurting.....they need the wax cleaned out of them again. Remember that post? We cleaned that Asian, scaly wax out of her ears and her language took right off in 24 hours. Well, we got some wax out of one ear, but the other ear, the wax was just too hard. So we are doing the drops in her ears at night until her 3 year old physical in August where we will attempt it again. So for those of you that have children home already....next time your child goes to the Doctor for whatever reason.....have them check those ears.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We did manage to get out on the boat Saturday for about 1 1/2 hours. We took the Pontoon boat out for the first time with both kids. We usually take the speed boat. I made David tie the side doors down even though they are hard to open. Daniel loved walking all over and having the freedom to do so. It was really nice. We brought drinks and snacks and just cruised the lake. I love summer! ;) I have tried my best to touch base with everyone that has commented to me and also made an attempt to get to some other blogs. So....if I haven't stopped by in a while......never fear....once summer is over, I'll be back to my normal stalking! lol
These are some new Tea's I am trying. The SleepyTime Tea is great. I've been drinking that for a while now. The Stress Relief, Chai and Wellness Tea.....the verdicts are still out.
So proud to be driving the boat......
Bugging sissy....
Checking everything out.....
The Mane

thanks for the suggestion about getting the ears checked. Jaiden sometimes sticks her finger in her ear and has not picked up speaking language as fast as she understands it so I wonder if maybe that could be the reason.

Looks like you've been having loads of fun on the lake! I don't see how you have time to blog at all but I'm glad you make the time :)

Sleepytime has always been one of my favorite teas, the Yogi Green tea is really good too. What is sleepytime extra? i had to go look at my box - it doesn't have that

I hope your kiddos get to feeling better soon! Teething is so not fun for anyone is it?

I hope Daniel's teeth stop bothering him soon. That is a horrible feeling going through it myself with a wisdom tooth.

Oh, I jus have to say that after the reunion. I read everyone's blogs now and can hear your voices as I read. I miss hearing your voices for real.

We have had to have Mallory's ears cleaned like that a couple of times. Not fun.
I so wish I lived on a lake. I would be out in the boat all of the time. It looks like so much fun and so relaxing to do in the evening. Enjoy!!!

I'm so jealous! You KNOW I love summer too, but I'd love it more if we could move in with you for awhile!
Can't wait to see you all next month.

I hope all your kiddos get better. I sure hate it when my kids are sick. And CHAI tea is one of my FAVS!!!!

valerian root (the secret ingredient in your tea) is for insomnia and is probably not a bad idea after the nights you've been having with sick children to mend. I could use some myself and would LOVE to come for a play date - we are not that far away...if you consider a couple of states not too far :)

They look great in those new little life jackets you got at Target. Eli loves the boat too, it's so soothing. I hope that all is well with you and yours. It's so busy here too and it's hard to keep up with everyone. I do try check on your blog every day!

Love those summer days out on the lake. If only summer would last a little longer but then of course I'd get nothing done around the house. Thanks for purchasing some bows. Hope you enjoy them!

Hope the kiddies are feeling better soon. Being sick sucks, especially when you're little and there are toys to be played with.

Those pictures of the boats are amazing. Looks like a lot of fun.

I am very happy for Elizabeth and her new daughter.
Now, I'm ready to celebrate your girl. I am hoping that you are matched off of the next COP list.
I can't wait to do your post!
Did Becky get matched? I haven't seen anything.

redmaryjanes said...

I asked our social worker about it and she said the decisions are based quite a bit on length of LID and then on the family fit.
She said we would never be matched with a serious SN because of the size of our family and most likely wouldn't be matched for a long time because there are others with LID's way ahead of ours.
She said they are reconsidering things though and may move to choosing family's based on the fit for the child regardless of LID, that would be nice.
I still don't know if going SN would be the way for us. I don't know if I could take the emotional let down of choosing a child and looking at their face for a month and writing a letter, only to find out we didn't get it. Our SW said one family has tried 5 times and still has had no referral. I don't know if I'm as strong as you girl.

Geez you must be worn out...two kids to take to the doctors...!!
Don't get too worn down or else you will be catching something too.

BTW love the pohto's of the kids on the boat...ahhh what great summer shots.

Well, I would think that you would have an advantage as an experienced mother who has been through IA before and is raising wonderfully healthy (mentally and physically) children. But, what do I know? It seems we Moms who have the larger families are at a disadvantage.

Hope the things are feeling better soon!

Oh my ... so sorry about the sick kids. Ped visits are just not fun! Hoping things are back to normal ASAP.

I have to say that I can be in the worst mood and then pop over to your blog and be happy. The flower and color design is fabulous. You must be a rather artistic person!

Teething is so aweful and that ear wax removal made Mya scream. I don't envy you today. Looks like you had some fun out on the boat, though. Sounds like another hot weekend coming. More boating for you!

Have you ever heard of ear candling? My Mom has it done twice a year for her wax build up. It is so gross but really cool at the same time. Sophia might benefit from this if you can find someone that does it.

Sleepytime is one of my all time favorite evening relaxers. Love the flavor. Sometimes I put a little honey in it but sometimes I just drink it by itself. Love it.

Oooh- thanks for the heads up on ear wax. Also, you all look so relaxed on the boat- fun!

Hope everyone is feeling healthy these days. Btw, I have so much respect for you and your ability to be such a great mom to your kids -- I often feel drained at the end of the day with my ONE little one ... :)

Hope the little ones are better soon. Thanks for the ear tip. I would have never known that.

Ear wax is nothing new here. Daily drops of pharmacy grade olive oil. The stuff is solid molten magna in there.
Sorry to hear that the infections are there too. Your mothers intuition is always right. Worth the work in doctor shlepping.
