Sniff, Sniff

Well David and Emmie left today for Europe. This is Emmie's third summer in a row going and David's first time to Europe ever. It left me with a very strange feeling. They have never been gone together.....from me. David goes on a winter ski trip every year, but Emmie is always with me. And when Emmie goes to any kind of camps, David is always home. I'm not quite sure how I feel about it.....a little unsettled perhaps? If you check out Emmie's blog you can see all the countries they are going to. Of course Emmie and I both cried and she was having a very hard time letting go of Sophia and Daniel. Not to mention the emotional weekend we just had. (in a good way) My wonderful husband basically has The Beckering Compound on lock down. Security, a very protective dog, the older boys are here, practically a neighborhood watch over Thing Mama, Thing 1 and Thing 2 and people checking in to see if everything is ok. Thankfully he can call on his cell phone......all I need to know is that they made it there safely. Once there, I know everything will be fine. I love them both so much.......my wonderful husband and precious daughter....safe travels my two loves!
Well, David just called to say that they are getting ready to board the plane....thump, thump goes my heart......guy I hope I can sleep tonight!

I hope they have a lot of fun while they are there. Try not to miss them too much. You still have Thing 1 and thing 2 to keep you company.

I'll saya pray tonight that they may be safe and things go well for you.
So let me see if I understand this.
YOU had a 40th birthday, hubby suprises you with frinds flying in.Two days later HE goes away and YOU were the one to turn 40!!!!One would think the person who turned 40 would be going away with her daughter because it is not everyday a person turns 40.
OK I think I mentioned enough about the 40 business.
Enough of the 40 jokes.what a wonderful suprise it must have been when you saw two very dear friends walk in and suprise you,(or you walked in and they were there).
I think Emmie's tribute to her mom said it very well. You sound like a very loving mom who would give anything to help her children.
I am so inspired when I think of how you have tought Emmie to take the nasty mean comments in stride.I can tell by her posts what a wonderful dear sweet young lady she is.And I know we must give God the praise, but also her mom and dad who have tought her to be respectful of others and to be a example of what a christian women is.
You seem to be a wonderful women full of spunk and love who loves to have a good time and a good laugh.
I have enjoyed getting to know you through blog land.
Have a wonderful week and I hope all goes well with Thing 1 and thing 2with Thing teen and Thing husband gone.

Super fun!! I want to go on that trip! It's hard to let them go isn't it? Hope you get a good nights sleep and hear from them soon.

It's funny isn't it, when we want a little piece and quiet we don't want it for too long because we just couldn't stand to be away from the normal family chaos for too long.

I hope Emmie and David have safe travels and mom survives at home and doesn't need a vacation of her own when they return!

What a wonderful experience for them! I know you will miss them but always remember I have a purple hippo to keep you dancing while they're away.

Be careful...you may strain something trying to emulate those moves ;0)

Safe travels for the fam and safe fort-holding for you!

I don't like when Keith is gone overnight either. I always wake up more. Funny thing. You'll make it but it will probably feel like a LONG time. Keep busy.

I will be praying for Emmie and David. I will also be praying for you and your home bunch. I have a real hard time being away from Wayne. I never have been good at it. But it will be a great father-daughter experience. Hang in there. And don't hesitate to let the older ones take over for a bit to give you a breather.

Wow you are brave letting your little girl and hubby go to another continent by themselves. Me, I get antsy when hubby takes Jack out for a day. I am sure they are going to have a great time and what a lucky young lady Emmie is to be able to go to Europe for the 3rd time. My prayers will be with you to have ease of mind during the time.
