So I have been doing a little thinking about how I am going to blog over the summer. Posting is easy for me. My camera is always handy and the chicklets are always with me. Some posts may be novels and others just little snippets. However, commenting on everyone's blog is what I am having a hard time with. After my de-lurking post, I added about 25 new blogs which has been great, but you know the drill. ;) I realized today there were a few blogs that I had not been to in a while. Just total forgetfulness on my part or missing them in my ever growing sidebar of blogs. lol So the past two days, I have immediately commented when someone comments on my post. I think that is what I am going to try and do for a while. They come to my email, so I click and go directly to that blog. NOW....that is NOT to say that if you don't feel like commenting that I'm not going to visit your blog. But summer is what we live for at the lake, and I love being outside with the kids. My plan is going to be to get through my blog list twice a week. If you find my post funny or interesting enough to leave a comment, I'll respond ASAP. This is what I feel I at least need to do through summer. I hope you all understand. Thing 1, Thing 2 and Thing Teen keep me hopping over here. I love you all, but I'm sure you understand that the Tribe comes first! ;) Hope I haven't ticked anyone off...that was not my intention. Hugs.......S*

I completely understand! Summertime is all about spending time with family and blogging (although great) shouldn't be a top priority when the weather is great AND you live on the lake. I had no idea-I'm so jealous. :)

I feel the exact same way. We live for summer here too. The kids love the pool. We put things off till winter all the time. Can't do anything else, those wonderful Indiana winters.(yuck)- too many old gray days. Enjoy your family. They grow up too quick.
I know how you feel, it can be overwhelming, I will also just do what I can.

Bloglines really helps -I follow way too many blogs but it flags the ones that have a new post instead of having to go through every one.

Great idea but Melissa has it right. Bloglines is the way to go. I am so happy that I finally started using it. Enjoy the time with your "things" and enjoy that fantasmic dock and sunbathing pad. Super cool!
No need to respond this this post . . . but excellent choice. This blog thing can become overwhelming. It is more important to have the opportunity to capture a little history on our children with our posts. As a mom I feel that one of my most importnat roles is being a historian for my child as there may not be anyone around later in her life who remembers the early years. I always enjoy when I reading your blog but only comment now and then. I read it much more frequently than I comment.

It gets hard because you find more and more blogs that you like to read - but its tough to keep up. I've kinda been doing some of what you said. I want to get on bloglines...I just haven't had a second to figure it out. I am not very smart when it comes to bloggie stuff.
Bloglines is great. I have 108 feeds right now. (whew) I spend so much reading blogs that I usually forget to post on my own. I like it that way though, I'm not much of a poster because all my kids right now are gone (old enough to have moved out) I don't find my life really 'interesting' right now.

I try to get through my bloglines twice per week. Sometimes I do and others well...you understand.
That is pretty much what I am getting to myself. I always go to the blogs I have comments from first and then I filter through the others as time allows. I have been pretty good about getting to see everyone, but some days it just doesn't work out.
I completley understand. Family is what should come first! I admire you for putting your foot down and walking away from the computer! Thats what Im working on this summer!

I hear ya, having 3 boys home for the summer has certainly squished my blog time down to not much. I still reserve naptime for pc time.
