Day of surgery: I AM WOMAN! I am amazed at what a breeze this is. I have a little more swelling on the left side of my face due to the screw being on that side. You can still see my cheek bones. I'm not even tired. The Vicodin is working great. I even get some of Andrew'sd room put together. The fam is surprised at how well I am doing. Daniel just wants his Momma. He keeps kissing my cheeks. That night: I can hardly sleep. Obviously the Vicodin is having that effect on me. Day 2: I have been hit by a bus. My face is twice the size and has begun to bruise. I have NO cheekbones. I am down for the count in bed most of the day. I can hardly open my mouth. That night: Wake up at 3:30 AM in extreme pain. Has gone up to my ears and things are even muffled. Decide to take 2 Vicodin. Feel that kick in within 30 minutes. Thank goodness. Day 3: Still ok with the 2 Vicodin...barely!!! Should be needing more in about an hour. Face is still swollen. I feel like doo-doo. Actually, I look like a gorilla minus the hairy face.....thank goodness for small miracles. Expecting another hard day. Part of my face is still numb. I am worried about this. ~sigh~ I hate anything that has to do with your mouth and teeth!

I have been wondering how you did..You are in my thoughts!!!
I am with you on hating anything with teeth!!
Hope you have a good weekend!!!
I hope you feel better soon. I have a severe fear of anything dentist/tooth related as well so I really feel for you! Get some rest this weekend!
so sorry, the ice packs helped me more than anything.
Oh Stef..I would not want to be in your shoes right now. I HATE going to the dentist...let alone having work done on my teeth (even though I do go to the dentist and had work done on my teeth). Hope you are feeling better soon and just look on the bright side, soon you'll be in HI and than off to China...now that is some positive thinking - that is so worth all this pain...
What a trooper you are to posting when you are in such pain!! Hope you're feeling better soon!
Janet
Hang in there Stef. It will be over in no time and you will be back to having cheek bones and all. Try to enjoy the weekend. Eat lots of fiber as the vicodin can cause other issues, if you know what I mean.
Sweet thoughts and strong prayers.

I have been thinking about you! When I saw you were having this done I actually cringed. I just watched my aunt go through the same procedure and it wasn't pretty. I was hoping you had fared better! Hang in there, and remember that it WILL be worth it in the end!
Hugs girl! Jill
I am so sorry you are having so much pain! I couldn't even imagine. Thankfully though, you don't have the hairy face!! LOL I hope you can just relax with your family this weekend. Let THEM take care of YOU!!
Blessings,
Carla
I have been wondering how things went. Thank GOD for good drugs. Keep them going. No pain is worth it. Hang in there. I can't wait to see pictures of Andrew's room.
PS. I just posted Josie's cardiologist appt update on the blog. It wasn't exactly what I wanted to hear, but it's not horrible either.
Oh, Steffie, I am so sorry that you are having such a rough time. That is way too much going on in one mouth for one day. I sure hope you are feeling back to your 100% self very soon!!

Thank goodness for Vicoden, keep taking em and feel better soon!
Oh no- it sounds just awful. So sorry that you are in so much pain and discomfort.
Hugs and keep taking those pain killers. Anything to get you through the next few days.

Feel better soon!
Saying a prayer for you and hoping the worst is behind you at this point!
Hang in there my friend! I'm so sorry that you have to go through this, I'm not a big fan of the dentist either. I've spent about 5 hours in the dentist chair just this year....YUCKY! I'm praying for you.
Sorry to hear you are feeling so bad. Thank goodness for good drugs...lol!! Hoping that you have a speedy recovery:)
Lisa
Sending special prayers for you to feel better soon! Rest and take your meds!
I totally understand!! I had jaw surgery 4 years ago, was in the hospital with my head wrapped and then 2 weeks of a liquid diet while my mouth was wired shut! I know how you feel! I would not look in the mirror bc I was so bruised and swollen! The good news is it DOES go away and you will be back to your beautiful self in NO TIME!!! Hang in there!!
Owie! I hate having anything done on my teeth. Keep the Vicodin handy and dream of Andrew....
Soooo glad it wasn't as bad as you thought it would be. Rest and eat plenty of popsicles! ;o)
Steffie,
OWWW! I sure hope that you are on the way to recovery! Keep the Vicodin on hand!
Dawn
Oh, Steffie,
I'm sorry this has been such a horrible experience for you. They all don't turn out this way... you were just one of the unfortunate ones. None the less, I hope you are feeling better soon. As for me, I have always loved going to the dentist.... (weird, I know!). I guess that's why I became a dentist! Don't worry.. I'm used to hearing how much everyone hates going!
Hope you survived the weekend. Can't wait for an update....
I think that is a great idea... can't wait to visit all your special cottages in Bloggerville...
Hope you are feeling better.... sorry, I can't even look at the pics below or think about it... I am terrified of dentists!
YIKES
Oh, I hope you are better now. I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth taken out at the same time. It was the worst thing I've ever gone through!
