We have had a great couple of days. Father's Day was very relaxing. All 6 kids were here and David asked that for his Father's Day gift, that I take a picture of each child, turn it into a black and white and hang it in his office. So, the photo shoot began. I think I got some great shots of the older 4, but still need to get the two little ones this week. When I have them all, I will post them. ;) It is a tribe....let me tell you! ;) My birthday was a relaxing day as well. The weather was not as nice as we had hoped for.....only in the mid 60's and VERY windy. David took the day off. After we dropped Emmie off at volleyball camp we went to breakfast. Then he took me to our jeweler and told me to look around....and guess what I left with....nothing......yes, you read that right girls....NADA.....I think there comes a point in your life where all the "stuff" really doesn't matter anymore. I was just happy to be with him....and really..... did not need anything else. I do think that I got my all time favorite card from him though.....we have always done this thing where we get any where from 3-5 cards for each other on whatever the "occacsion' may be. So besides the real long ones.....my favorite was simply this:
"An angel came to me one day......(open card) so I married her."
I loved it.....very sweet and simple card with very cute pictures. ;) Emmie got me a very stylish bag with cute cards as well. Sophia made me a card with a picture of me (yellow hair) and with her, (black hair) she also drew hearts all over the paper and signed her own name. Daniel just snuggled me all day like he always does....
So as far as "big gifts".....I just ordered two new pieces of Step 2 outside toys for the kids and I said that was my present. lol Presents for the kids! ;) We have put together the climber and playhouse and Sophia and Daniel love them. Anyways...... We then came home, sat in the sun for a while on the tennis court and then decided to head out on the boat to a calmer part of the lake. We did that for about an hour. Came home, Emmie left for a "get together" at a friends house and David and I took the kids to the park. They loved it. Had good intentions of taking pictures, but with a 3 year old and a 2 year old on very high playground stuff....we each had to be with one of the Things at all times. So....no pictures. ;( On our way home my cell phone rang only to be asked if the small "get together" could be moved to our house......sigh.....what's a Mom to do? So the pizza and bread sticks were delivered, Sophia and Daniel "hung out" with the big kids for as long as they were allowed and once again I am ending the day just feeling thankful for the many things I have been blessed with. I really don't need much more.......ok.....well maybe one more daughter from China! ;) Oh yeah.....I got the funniest phone call the other day..........
